Day 1 SATURDAY
- arrival in the afternoon at farm holiday location in the province of Grosseto
- welcome drinks
- assignment of rooms or apartments
- dinner on the farm
- presentation of weekly programme with slide show (only for groups) and
distribution of information leaflets and brochures
- overnight stay
Day 2 SUNDAY
- breakfast on the farm
- transfer to Porto Santo Stefano, the most important town on the promontory of Mount Argentario and to its Rocca with a stroll along the sea front and the panoramic road which circles the mountain to enjoy the breathtaking view as far as the Island of Giglio and the Maremma Nature Park.
- free time
- free for lunch
- transfer to Porto Ercole and visit to this old sea-faring village and harbour dominated by the impressive Spanish fortifications with a particularly interesting view from Forte Stella.
- dinner on the farm or at a typical restaurant and overnight stay
Day 3 MONDAY
- breakfast on the farm
- the first part of the morning will be spent visiting the medieval town of Sassofortino overlooked by the ruins of its castle which stand at the top of the hill with an excursion to the
Sassoforte.
- transfer to Montemassi , small town built on top of a hill overlooking the plains north of Grosseto and visit to the
castle.
- free for lunch
- in the afternoon visit to Castel di Pietra, mentioned by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy in his famous passage on Pia dei Tolomei
- transfer to Massa Marittima for a walk through the streets of this splendid medieval town
- dinner on the farm or at a typical restaurant and overnight stay
Day 4 TUESDAY
- breakfast on the farm
- visit to the Museo Archeologico e d’Arte of the Maremma in Grosseto, one of most exhaustive and most famous in Tuscany, whose numerous archaeological exhibits illustrate the origins of Grosseto and its outlying territories
- guests can continue their visit to Grosseto and its monuments (the Medicean walls, the Duomo and the Church of San Francesco. Greater attention will be paid to the Fortezza) and perhaps do some shopping in the town
centre.

- in the afternoon visit to Castiglione della Pescaia, famous seaside resort with its unchanged harbour and medieval town. From the old town surrounded by impressive walls and its towers there is a magnificent view of the long sandy beaches and pinewood which runs along the coast as far as the Maremma Nature Park.
- dinner on the farm or at a typical restaurant and overnight stay
Day 5 WEDNESDAY
- breakfast on the farm
- visit to the outside of the Castle of Monte Po’, an example of a fortified medieval and Renaissance villa (approx. 15km) near Montorgiali, currently owned by a famous wine-producing company.
- transfer to Roccalbegna and visit to the charming medieval town named after the River Albegna, whose valley it overlooks, with special emphasis on its
fortifications.

- in the afternoon the excursion continues with a visit to Selvena and the castle of Rocca Silvana, an impressive Aldobrandeschi fortress of great strategic
importance.
- dinner on the farm or at a typical restaurant and overnight stay
Day 6 THURSDAY
- breakfast on the farm
- visit to the outside of the Castle of Colle Massari, a fortified farm, with out
- buildings set around a central courtyard, situated near Cinigiano. Short visit to the town.
- the trip continues with a visit to Castel Porrona which, still enclosed by its walls, retains all the charm of a 16th century
castle.
- free for lunch
- transfer and visit to the town of Arcidosso which, overlooked by the impressive Rocca Aldobrandesca, retains its characteristic historic town
centre.

- dinner on the farm or at a typical restaurant and overnight stay
Day 7 FRIDAY
- breakfast on the farm
- the morning is spent visiting the outside of the castle of Monte Antico (a visit inside can be arranged on request), dating to the 13th century, and the outside of the 12th century castle of Casenovole near Casal di Pari. Visit to the town of Casal di Pari where there are still traces of the circuit of medieval walls: true rural jewels

- visit to the Belagaio Estate, originally a castle which became a farming estate in the 16th
century.
- visit to the Castle of Torniella mentioned as far back as the 11th
century.
- dinner on the farm or at a typical restaurant and overnight stay
Day 8 SATURDAY
- breakfast on the farm and departure
